With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Oscar Hilt Tatum Jr. (Opelika, Alabama), who passed away on February 17, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Oscar Hilt Tatum and Corinne Smith Tatum of Opelika; his sons, Dr. Oscar Hilt Tatum III and Thomas A. Tatum; and his grandchild Jean Muel.
He is survived by: his significant other Roswitha; his children, Corinne Tatum Hurst (Jimmy), Dr. Jim Tatum (Dottie), Caroline Tatum Pugh (Michael) and Martine Barbareau; his daughter-in-law Scarlett Stutts Tatum; and his grandchildren, James B. Hurst, Jr., Oscar Hilt Tatum IV (Sarah), Ashley Hurst Underwood (Phil), Lauren Tatum Capra (Chaz), Dr. Victoria Pugh Keir (Graham), Cara Pugh Keys (Greg), Davis Tatum, Hannah Tatum McDonald (Jared), Rachel Marshall (Rob), Tatum Pugh, Emma, Nora, Mallory Tatum and Jules Muel (Samia).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Garden Hill Cemetery (1216 Frederick Rd, Opelika, AL 36801). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the organization of your choice or to the Alabama Implant Study Group in memory of Dr. Tatum.
