He was predeceased by: his parents, Dorothy Kearson VanDyke and Norwood Graham Van Dyke; and his son Norwood Jerry Van Dyke, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Judith Croft Van Dyke; his children, Becky Wyman (Tim), Jason Merrill-VanDyke (Blake), Lara Lea Woodham, Liliana, Gracie and Penelope VanDyke; his grandchildren, Lauren Sweezey, Samantha Sweezey, Dylan Woods Hobson, Iris Anahli Woodham and Noah Sampen; and his siblings, Jean Herring (Larry), Barbara Bethea (Homer), Anne Cromartie (Bo), Ginger Turbeville (Terry), David Van Dyke (Elaine) and Brian Van Dyke (Robin).
