He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Morgan D. Phillips and Edith M. Phillips; his former wife Marjorie J. Phillips; his wife Carmen Copenhaver Phillips; his son Matthew Phillips (Scott); his daughter-in-law Margaret Freehling Phillips of Auburn; his grandsons, Maxwell Conrad Phillips of Auburn and Samuel Morgan Phillips of Oakland, California.; and his close friend Nancy Backhaus of Auburn.
