She was predeceased by: her parents, James Monroe and Alice Johnson Phurrough; and her husband Bill "Sarge" Atchinson. She is survived by: her brother Rex E. Phurrough of Sylacauga, AL; her sons, Toby W. Hanna (Cricket) of Auburn, AL and Jeffrey S Hanna (Laura) of Rockspring, GA; and her granddaughters, Gretchen and Alison Hanna (Jeff).
