She is survived by: her children, Kay Dowell of Waverly, AL, Kenneth "Jerome" Menefee of Opelika, AL, Dr. Arturo Menefee (Tanya) of Opelika, AL, Justin Menefee of Opelika, AL, Valarie Turner (Tyrone) of Auburn, AL and Roslyn Payne of Auburn, AL; her granddaughters, Candice Menefee of Auburn, AL and Nekeisha Reese of LaFayette, AL; her great grandchildren, Jacarious Holland of Opelika, AL and Cody Ambus of Auburn, AL; her siblings, Lola Comer of Opelika, AL, Almeda Walker (Jerry) of Opelika, AL, Annie Torbert (John) of Auburn, AL and Walter Hughley (Camilla) of LaFayette, AL; her niece Barbara Ann Cunningham of Anniston, AL; her friend Rosie Bolden of Opelika, AL; and her caregiver Lawanda Middleton of Valley, AL. She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The lying in state was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Mt. Lebanon United Methodist Church (22455 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, La Fayette, AL 36862). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
