He is survived by: his wife Mary JoAn Cox Cooper; his son Dr. John Reed Cooper; his daughter-in-law Vickie Tatum Cooper; his daughter Jan Cooper; his grandson Justin Newman; his granddaughter-in-law Danielle Newman; his grandson Sean Cooper; and his great grandchildren, Adelynn Newman and Shepherd Newman.
