He was predeceased by: his parents, William A. Mitchell and Emma Lou Johnson Mitchell; his former wife Frances Werderman Mitchell; and his siblings, William A. Mitchell and Barbara McCormick.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Clemons Mitchell; his son Harold E. Mitchell Jr.; and his stepsons, Chris Clemons (Donna) and Kevin Clemons (Andrea). He is also survived by 6 step-grandchildren.
