Though Franklin may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Mezick and Anis Roscoe Mezick; and his sons, Perry Mezick and Mike Mezick. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Diane Mezick; his children, Marty Mezick, Robbie Jackson (Eric), Amy Mercado (Bunky) and Chris Mezick (Danni); and his close friend Mike Smith. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home (1500 Frederick Rd, Opelika, AL 36801). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at the Garden Hills Cemetery (1218 Frederick Rd, Opelika, AL 36801).
