Growing up in Port Colborne, ON, he attended Port Colborne High, Continuing his education at the Royal Canadian Military College, Kingston, ON. There he earned his degree in Accounting. Marrying Arlene (Matthews) in 1961, they moved several times, with each of the 4 children born in a different city. Finally settling with the young family in North Bay in 1973. Hodge Eventually became the owner of Lakewood Ford in North Bay and then moving on own and manage Hodge's Garage also in North Bay. The biggest impact on his life was when he turned his life to Christ in 1980, from then on, he tried to live his life in a Godly way. Moving with Arlene to the USA in 1985, many of the family also ultimately joined them there. Hodge and Arlene also spent 7 years living in China teaching English language studies. Moving back to the USA in 2000, and settling in Alabama, meant that many family reunions across the past 20 years involved gathering family from Australia, Canada and the USA. All of these memories we now hold dear and we are thankful to honor his memory today.
Hodge was laid to rest in a private ceremony in Opelika, Al on 24th of July 2020. Thank you to all friends and family for your love and kindness during this difficult time.
