It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Phelps of Opelika, Alabama, born in Elmore, Alabama, who passed away on May 27, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Luther Gullatt and Addie Pearl Thompson Gullatt; her son Harold Michael Phelps; and her brother Benny Luther Gullatt. She is survived by: her husband Melvin Phelps of Opelika, Alabama; her grandchildren, Matthew Phelps (Stephanie) of Grape Vine, Mark Phelps (Ashley) of Phenix City and Terra Phelps of Ocean Shores, Washington; and her stepdaughter Nirvana. She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
