He was predeceased by: his parents, Leora Ethleen Jarman Ballard and Arthur Alexander Ballard; his wife Iris Regene Carlisle; his son Art, Jr.; his siblings, Carl Ballard, Wilda Jean Thornell and Wilma Dean Ballard; and his great grandchild Elliot Gentry.
He is survived by: his children, Arthur Donald Ballard, Jr., Michael Steven Ballard (Sandie), Donna Ballard McGarity (Brent) and Gregory Alan Ballard (Hope); his brothers-in-law, Cordell (Becky) and James Wendell; and his grandchildren, Michael (Holly), Matthew (Anna), John-Patrick (Dana), Natasha (Keeton), Justin, Kaitlin (Jacob) and Corie (Christopher). He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
