He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Hays and Oppie Standridge Hays; and his daughter Raphine Hays. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Hays; his daughters, Rhonda Casey and Maggie Sanford; his grandchildren, Stacie Neely, Susan Neely, Taylor Cole, Jeff Cunningham, Ann Marie Connly, Candy Beck and Sarah Northcutt; his great grandchildren, Brandon Weston, Jordan Neely, Destiny Bates, Kendra Bates, Zoe Bates, Navah Connly, Zane Connly, Holland Beck, Piper Beck and Mark Kate Beck; and his sister Lillian Harris. He is also survived by eight brothers and two sisters.
