He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Lee Putman and Lura Elizabeth Reeves Putman. He is survived by: his wife Martha Snow Putman; his son Norman Kile Putman; his daughter-in-law Susan Calloway Putman; his grandchildren, Allison Putman Stone (Jeremiah Stone), Leslie Lee Putman and Jody Calloway Putman; his daughter Carol Putman Smith; his son-in-law Timothy Wayne Smith; his grandson Daniel Eli Smith; and his siblings, Neil Manuel Putman (Helen Putman) and Cheryl Putman Glasscox (Ronnie Glasscox).
