He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Monroe Phillips and Lydia Belle Phillips (Robbins); and his brothers, Willard Phillips, Harold Phillips and Steve Phillips.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Phillips (Nash) of Oneonta; his children, Braden Welborn (Aaron) of Chapel Hill, NC and Kevin Phillips of Birmingham; his grandchildren, Lydia and Oliver Welborn; and his siblings, Larry Phillips (Vernell), Bruce Phillips and Kay Gordon (Bob). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
