It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Karen Sue Acker of Oneonta, Alabama, who passed away on April 6, 2025, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though her name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Karen Sue leaves upon the hearts of her loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of her spirit and the richness of her legacy.
She was predeceased by: her father Robert Pete Smith; and her brother Kent Smith. She is survived by: her son Tom Walton Acker, III; her granddaughter Delilah Gail Acker; her mother Gail Smith Southard; and her siblings, Kraig Smith (Kandy) and Kelly Tian.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Lemley Funeral Chapel (6878 2nd Ave W, Oneonta, AL 35121).
