He was predeceased by: his parents, Romalda Cedillo and Candelario Duarte; and his siblings, Elodio Duarte, Senon Vasquez and Luisa Duarte.

He is survived by: his wife Maricela Duarte; his children, Candelario, Gilberto, Jimmy, Eddie Duarte and Esperanza Duarte; his grandsons, Levi Martinez, Jayden Duarte and Luka Martinez; and his siblings, Alfredo, Santos, Apolinar, Eustaquio, Maximiliano Duarte, Teresa and Petra Duarte.
