It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Henry Columbus Shelton of Oneonta, Alabama, who passed away on January 13, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Shelton and Ida Bell Shelton; and his siblings, Margaret Arwood, Shirley Shelton, Kathryn Chandler, Melvin, Sam Jr. "Buster", Charles and Robert Shelton.
He is survived by: his wife Iva Lee Beavers Shelton; his children, Elizabeth Shelton, Ricky Shelton, Sandy Dempsey (Gene) and Roger Shelton (Tina); his sister Gladys Hilliard; his grandchildren, Angie Sousa, Jason Dempsey (Misty), Jonathan Shelton, Jessica Shelton, Brandon Shelton and Adam Shelton; and his great grandchildren, Kyle Richardson (Sydney), Kody Richardson, Alexa Dempsey, Grant Dempsey and Byron Dempsey. He is also survived by four great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 16th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Lemley Funeral Chapel (6878 2nd Ave W, Oneonta, AL 35121).
