He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Self and Veda Hunt Self; his son Taylor; and his brothers, Revis, Elbert and Mylion Self.
He is survived by: his wife Melba Wootan Self; his children, Marcus Self (Eugenia) and Courtney Holden (Cranston); his grandchildren, Maddox Holden and Tristan Self; and his siblings, Donald, E. V. Self, Wilma Peterson, Frances Osborne, Linda Gardner and Robbie Sue Evans. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Lemley Funeral Chapel (6878 2nd Ave W, Oneonta, AL 35121). A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Blount Memory Cemetery (2215 AL-132, Oneonta, AL 35121).
