He is survived by: his wife Diane Gillespie Pate; his daughters, Leigh Ann Green (Carey) and Emily Thomas (Dale); his grandchildren, Benjamin Pate, Bailey Kate Green, Brooks Pate, Peyton Thomas, Savanna Thomas and Jada Thomas; his brother Phillip Pate; and his half-siblings, Albert Pate, Paul Pate and Cynthia Martin. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
