He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Hurst and Gwendolyn Hurst; and his sisters, Delores, Cherri and Carol.

He is survived by: his sons, William "Ty" Hurst and Ted Hurst; and his grandsons, Cayden Hurst (Sunny) and Seth Hurst. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
