She was predeceased by: her husband James William Smith; her parents, Henry Hendon and Frances Hendon; and her siblings, Dorothy Lightsey and Frank Hendon.

She is survived by: her children, Shane Pilkington (Rachel), David Pilkington and Amanda Smith; her siblings, Betty Hendon, Barbara Moncus (Jimmy), Edward Hendon (Cindy) and James "Yank" Hendon (Margaret); and her grandchildren, Emily Pilkington, Dawson and Austin Wilkinson. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
