He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia McClain Long and T. J. Long; and his siblings, Frances Long and James Long. He is survived by: his siblings, Robert, Joe, Ray Long, Sandy Meeks, Susan Clay and Carole Hogan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
