It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lura Jean Smith of Odenville, Alabama, who passed away on August 15, 2021, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lura Jean Smith to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Houston Ruey Cobb and Zora Agnes Gilchrist Cobb; her siblings, James Dudley "Bud" Cobb and Mildred Frances Cobb Jones; her husband Fred L. B. Smith; and her son Jonathan Fred Smith.
She is survived by: her friends, Saraharte Watson Byers, Jenny, Peb Stone and Wilda Franklin; her daughter Melinda Smith Morris (Allen Morris); her granddaughters, Rita Smith Schell (Joseph Schell), Rossi Morris Carlson (Hardie Carlson) and Mollie Morris Naylor (Adam Naylor); and her great grandchildren, Jonathan Seth Schell, Ingrid Rossi Carlson, Heidi Glenn Naylor and Frances "Frankie" Hardie Carlson. She is also survived by her three granddaughters, her great-grandson and her three great-granddaughters.
