She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur Pierce and Mildred Pierce of Alabama; her husband William Nesmith; and her siblings, Billy, Bobby, Joe Pierce and Delora Atkins.

She is survived by: her children, William Michael, Rodger, Donna G. Copeland and Jeff Nesmith; her brothers, John, Kenneth and James Pierce (Pete); and her grandchildren, Joey Nesmith, Angela Langston, Robert, Jenny Rawson, April Key and Brooke Davis. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association.
