He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Abel and Velma Abel; and his siblings, Jean Powell, Carl Abel, Lynn Hugh "Buddy" Abel, Jimmy Abel and Fred Abel.
He is survived by: his wife Violet Abel; his children, Cynthia Criswell (Jack), Russell Abel (Susan) and Mark Abel (Jane); his sisters, Laura Randolph and Martha Jones; and his grandchildren, Luke Abel (Kalee), Caleb Abel, Zachary Abel (Michelle), Jacob Abel (Anna), Cara Criswell and Schaeffer Criswell. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Southern Care Hospice, Lakewood Baptist, or Carroll Creek Volunteer Fire Department, or the charity of your choice.
