She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Deck Kirkland and Alice Kirkland; her husband James West, Jr.; her daughters, Sandra West Kelly of Abbeville and Cheryl King (Byron) of Prattville, Alabama; her sister Betty Hamilton (George); and her sister-in-law Mary Jim Davis Kirkland. She was also cherished by five grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
