She was predeceased by: her husband James Albert Carpenter, Jr.; her parents, Carl Haselton, Sr. and Ossie Barnes Haselton Pirkle; and her siblings, Mary Lieck, Frances Price and Carl Haselton, Jr..
She is survived by: her children, Jane C. Brantley (Mark), Sharon C. Golden (Dan), Dr. Lila C. Windus (Peter) and Dr. James E. Carpenter (Brenda); her grandchildren, Thomas Brantley (RueDee), Matthew Carpenter (Mary), Anna Lavender (Jacob), Charlotte Windus and Danielle Parham (Trent); and her great grandchildren, Toby Garcia, Rebekkah Carpenter, Kaylynn Carpenter, Ben Parham, Emilie Lavender, Freyja Brantley and Elijah Lavender.
