It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Willard V. Gates of Newton, Alabama, who passed away on January 6, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard Vernon Gates, Sr. and Billie Lorene Long Gates; and his brothers-in-law, Reverend Jerry L. Glover and Ernie Render. He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Price Gates; his children, Carol Becker (Roger), Karen Stortenbecker (Bob), Kathy Sawyer (Kevin), Abaco, Bahamas, Nancy Rotthoff (Richard) and John Gates (Leigh Ann); his brothers, Doug L. Gates (Ginger) and Cliff Gates (Susan); his grandchildren, Nicole, Makayla, Bryce, Jon, Bobby, Kristi, Karis, Zach, David, Josh, Aaron, Taylor, Christopher, Caleb and Brendan; and his siblings-in-law, Judy Glover, Patricia Render and Phil Price (Martha).
COVID guidelines and social distancing will be observed during all scheduled times. The family appreciates everyone who will attend; however, they ask that you refrain from hugging and shaking hands due to COVID.
