He was predeceased by: his parents, William Fred and Ethel Gladys Pope Ricketts; and his sister Ilene Bostick. He is survived by: his wife Reeda George Ricketts; his daughters, Tammy Woods (Jeremy) of New Market, AL and Jennifer Gann (Gerald) of Huntsville, AL; his grandchildren, Cole Ricketts, Ben Woods, Bailee Gann and Isaac Gann; and his siblings, James Ricketts (Vickie) of Fayetteville, TN and Mary Jo Price of Grant, AL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
