He was predeceased by: his parents, James "Jimmy" Hicks and Mildred "Millie" Hicks; his brother James Hicks; his former wife Bonnie Kay; and his stepson Todd Van Parys.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna Thompson; his children, Michael Hicks, Jr. of Clearwater, FL, Richard Hicks of Clearwater, FL and Crystal "Crys" Hodgens (Don Combest) of Huntsville; and his brothers, Joseph "Joe" Hicks of Clearwater, FL and Benjamin "Ben" Hicks of Cincinnati, OH.. He is also survived by five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.
