He was predeceased by: his wife Billie Pace Michaels; his son Jeffrey Wade Michaels; his parents, Jim Michaels and Allie Michaels; and his siblings, James Michaels, Flora Mae Fossett and Ida Hill.
He is survived by: his son Greg; his granddaughters, Casey (Will Brannon), Courtney (Trace Burgett) and Allie (Hunter Watson); and his great grandchildren, Jaelynn, Presley Clark and Warren Dowdey Burgett.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the building fund of Hillwood Baptist Church in Huntsville.
