He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Vandiver and Winifred Vandiver. He is survived by: his siblings, Charles "Vandy" Vandiver (Denise), Cynthia Vandiver, Clay Vandiver (Melanie) and Carolyn Smith (Gary); and his nieces and nephews, Jason Vandiver (Kathy), Megan Hopper (Brian), Van Crawford and Emily Crawford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Market Presbyterian Church.
