Billy Wayne Bates Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Billy Wayne Bates of New Market, Alabama, who passed away on February 3, 2025 at the age of 58. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Junior "Bill" Bates; and his stepbrother Danny Ray Cagle. He is survived by: his daughter Hailey Bates (Clay Culberson); his stepdaughter Elizabeth Marie Smith; his granddaughter Oakleigh Culberson; his siblings, Tommy Bates, Lee Bates, Linda Blizzard and Veronica Dawson; and his stepsiblings, Larry Dean Cagle, Rodney Thompson, Carol Williams and Cynthia Thompson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Hazel Green Funeral Home (13921 US-231, Hazel Green, AL 35750).
