She was predeceased by: her husband Wayne C. Hughes, Sr.; her parents, Thomas Jefferson Cook and Bertha C. Holloway; and her siblings, Grover B. Cook, McDonald Cook, Willard Cook and Verlon Cook.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa H. Summerlin (Glen) and Wayne C. Hughes, Jr. (Heidi); her granddaughter Shayna Michelle Anderson (Shawn); her great grandchild Wyatt Michael Anderson; her daughter Gwen Campbell (Michael); and her siblings, Wilbur J. Cook (Sheila), Junior Cook (Mary) and Dawell Hollaway (Kathy). She is also survived by several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home (2500 Oak Grove Rd, New Hope, AL 35760). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the New Hope Funeral Home Chapel (2500 Oak Grove Rd, New Hope, AL 35760). A burial will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Moon Cemetery (352 Cave Spring Rd, Owens Cross Roads, AL 35763).
