It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry Arthur Smotherman (New Hope, Alabama), who passed away on November 29, 2023, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parent W. L.; and his wife Nelwyn Jean Smotherman. He is survived by: his children, Scott Smotherman (Jonni) and Gina Gwathney; his grandchildren, Paige, Piper Smotherman, Hannah Bibby (David) and Ryan Gwathney; his friend Vince Shumber; and his sisters-in-law, Glenda Shumber, Linda McConnell and Drucilla Tabor.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to VA charities or local homeless shelters.
