He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Jean Shirley; his daughter Betty Lou Sturdivant; his parents, Luke Shirley, Sr. and Trudie Dykes Shirley; his siblings, George Satcher, John Mose Shirley, Sam Frank Shirley, Willie Kate Anderson and Rosie Lee Jarman; and his son-in-law Little David Turner.
He is survived by: his children, Jasper Shirley of Needham and Susan Turner of Needham; and his grandchildren, James Derrick Jenkins, Alicia Marie King, Justin Michael Shirley, Megan LaDonna Shirley, Hollie Deanne Miller and Casey Jean Sturdivant.
