It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phillip Atkins (Nauvoo, Alabama), born in Jasper, Alabama, who passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, H. O. Atkins and Geneva Atkins; his sisters, Debra Fay, Phyllis Kay and Joan Ellen Atkins; and his grandparents, S. A., Thelma Atkins, Duff and Pearline Cheatwood.
He is survived by: his wife Karen; his daughter Jessica; his mother-in-law Annette Shumate; his sister Kathy O'Barr (Rod); his nieces and nephews, Shelly O'Barr, Kris O'Barr (Alison), Norah and Callan O'Barr; and his father-in-law Johnnie Norman Shumate.
