It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Maxine Joyce Whitten of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, who passed away on February 26, 2024, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, August Lemke and Faye Lemke; her husband George Whitten Sr.; and her children, Linda Wakefield and Mark Whitten.
She is survived by: her children, George Whitten (Virginia), Phillip Whitten and Lisa Hedrick (Jeff); her brother Wayne Lemke (Sharon); and her grandchildren, Joshua Wakefield, Lindsey Overton, Jennifer Wakefield and Jessica Wakefield. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
