He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Joy Gargis Isbell (Mittie); his son Richard Isbell (Chigger); his parents, Lonnie Isbell and Mary Ellen Pace Isbell; his sister Flossie Pace; his brother-in-law Luther Pace; and his brother Reedious Isbell.
He is survived by: his children, Neal Isbell (Debbie) and Madonna Choat (Gerald); his grandchildren, Todd Isbell (Melinda), Shane Isbell (Misty), Bryant Isbell, Julie Hargett (Chris), Christopher Isbell (Amista), Holli McGuire (Chris) and Cale Choat (Paige); his great grandchildren, Ellie Watson (Dalton), Emma Cozart (Tom), Avery Isbell, Nevie Isbell, Sophie Isbell, Tyler Isbell, Cooper Hargett, Banks Hargett, Ciara Cameron, Carter Cameron, Jolee Isbell, Alli Isbell, Braxton Lindsey, Eli Lindsey, Rosalie Choat and Shepherd Choat; his great great grandchildren, Charlotte Watson and Tripp Cozart; and his grandsons, Dr. Chris Hargett and Chris McGuire.
