He was predeceased by: his father William Frank Cobb, Jr.; his stepmother Mary Ross Cobb (Rossie); his mother Blossom Bankhead Cobb Dil; and his son Brian Bankhead Cobb. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Lauren Taylor Cobb; his children, Lauren Cobb Dancy (Lee) of Redmond, Washington and William Frank Cobb, IV (Bill) of Grant-Valkaria, Florida; his grandchildren, Tallulah Taibi, Analise Dancy and Rye Dancy; and his sister Tina Cobb of Virginia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
