We are sad to announce that on June 4, 2020, at the age of 68, Mark Hansen Deierhoi in Mountain Brook, Alabama passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father William Hansen Deierhoi, Jr.. He is survived by: his pet Maisie; his wife Gwendolyn; his children, Rhiannon Deierhoi Reed (Brandon), Lauren Anne Falin (Stephen) and Tyler Lee William Deierhoi (Katy Ruiz); his granddaughter Ophelia Jayne Reed; his mother Peggy Baker Deierhoi; and his siblings, Michael Deierhoi and Sara Clark (Jay). He is also survived by three nieces and nephews, and many extended family.

Memorial donations can be made to the Alabama Kidney Foundation, The Legacy of Hope, and First Church Birmingham.

“Dear Deierhoi family-Mark was the first transplant fellow Dr.Belzer and I trained.Even at this time his kindness ,calm demeanor and kindheartedness was obvious.Patients loved him,he took time and listened and he was sincere.Sometimes we made fun of him because his surgery took a little longer-but he had no or few complications.He did not operate for show he operated for safety and accuracy.So no surprise when I needed a second center to test CellCept he was the first surgeon I called.Trust.”
