It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Francis Grant Jr. in Mountain Brook, Alabama, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on September 21, 2020, at the age of 53, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Francis Grant and Louise Mattimore Grant; his wife Janice Wiedmann Grant of Des Moines, Iowa.; his sisters, Mary Kate Cary (Rob), Susan Connors and Carolyn Zarrella (Ron); his nieces and nephews, Alyson Groff, Annie Cary, Gracie Cary, Kate Connors and Will Connors; and his grandparent Irish.

In addition, John served as the long-time board chair of the Birmingham chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, raising mil- lions for a cure for Type I Diabetes.
