She was predeceased by: her parents, James Douglas and Vivian Seals Sample; and her former husband William Earl Sherrill. She is survived by: her sisters, Vivian Ferguson, Peggy Burnett and Jane Jones; her husband Gene Moore Cushman; her daughter Jane Sherrill Wade (Louis F. Jr.); her grandchildren, Louis Frederick Wade Ill, William Sherrill Wade, Vivian Anne Hutto Moon (Dan) of Melbourne, FL and Zachary Taylor Hutto; her great grandchildren, Caroline and Matthew Moon; and her stepchildren, Bonnie Smith Black (James) of Greensboro, NC, Mark Cushman (LaVerna) of Norman, OK and Stacy Cushman Conner (Paul) of Vestavia Hills, AL.. She is also survived by friends and her many beloved dogs.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Independent Presbyterian Church or the Linly Heflin Unit.
