She was predeceased by: her parent Thomas Young Phelon Tidwell; her husbands, William Comer Ireland and Walter Sinclair Fletcher; her stepchildren, William Comer Ireland, Jr. and Leslie Ireland Agee; and her brothers, Thomas Young Tidwell, Jr. and Robert Lee Tidwell.

She is survived by: her child Comer Ireland Aebersold (Brandon); her granddaughters, Caroline and Catherine of Atlanta; her daughter Virginia Agee Speirs (Garrett); her grandchildren, Siena, Benjamin of Santa Ynez, CA and Rucker Agee of Birmingham; her nieces, Kacy Ireland Mitchell (Guy), Mallie Ireland Dansby (Stewart) and Nonie Ireland Brown (Tom); her close friends, Jane Tolleson, Carlos Staples and Julie Feirman; and her caregivers, Stephanie House, Geraldine Rice, Joy Green and Bobbie Chetham.
