He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Goode and Orlean Goode; his wife Vada Goode; his sisters, Coleen Holcombe, Sylvia Gooch and Carolyn Goode; his brothers-in-law, Homer Nix (JoAn), Charles Nix (Dot), Connice Holcombe, Claude Shew and Bo Bittle; his daughters, Sandra Goode and Marsha Swann; his granddaughter Tammy Swann Powell; and his grandson-in-law Carl J. Miller.

He is survived by: his former wife Vada Lee Nix; his siblings, Faye Bittle, Joan Reed (Lamar) and Jerry Whitburn (Shirley); his brother-in-law Ernest Gooch; his sons, Doug Jr. (Ida) and Frank (Bridget); his grandchildren, Douglas Swann (Tina), Matthew Swann (Annette), Tracey Swann Ammons (Chris), Kerry Swann (David), Bryan Freeman (Larissa), Miranda Goode Miller, Nathan Goode (Jennifer) and Lacey Goode Johnson (Ronnie); his grandson-in-law Brian Powell; and his great grandchild Nineteen.
