He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Pankey and Ruth Hambey Pankey; his former wife Deborah Pankey; his son Chris Pankey; his siblings, Durwood Pankey, Eldridge Pankey and Earlene Taylor; and his granddaughter Mary-Frances Adair.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Smith Pankey; his daughter Heather Adair (Jason); his stepmother Dorothy Pankey; his granddaughter Genney Borden (Jessie); and his siblings, Susan Denham (David), Marquita Poss (Troy) and Jason Pankey (Crystal). He is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Aveanna Hospice or New Antioch Church of Christ.
