He was predeceased by: his parents, Houston Thomas and Eunice Self Lewis; and his sister Billie Ruth Nation. He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen Payne Lewis; his son Charles Houston "Chuck" Lewis, Jr. (Samantha); his sisters, Pat Mathews and Norma Barnes; and his sister-in-law Mavis Adams. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
