He was predeceased by: his father Ronald Keith Matthews; his grandparents, Gwen Matthews, John, Mae Leatherwood, Ronnie and Dorothy Hill; and his aunt Rhonda Hill.

He is survived by: his wife Angel Matthews; his mother Karen Matthews; his brother Kevin Matthews (Mary Beth); his grandfather Elmo Matthews; his nieces and nephews, Kaley, Brinley, Austin, Colton, Josiah and Keith; his aunt Patricia Findley (Steve); and his uncles, Wayne Hill (Shannon) and Steve Snow (Rita). He is also survived by cousins and other extended family.
