He was predeceased by: his parents, George Laurence McCrary and Anne Cortner Zeitler McCrary of Mooresville; and his brother Henry Zeitler McCrary of Decatur, AL.. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Dowling McCrary of Mooresville; his children, Margaret-Anne McCrary Crumlish (Kevin Crumlish) and G. Laurence McCrary III (Natasha Cunningham McCrary); his grandchildren, Eliza Kay McCrary, Alexander Waggoner McCrary (Emily Russell McCrary) of Mooresville, James Gamble McCrary of Mooresville and Matthew Cortner Crumlish of Mooresville; and his siblings-in-law, Melanie Buttner McCrary of Decatur, AL and Noel Mitchell Dowling, Jr. (Deborah Keller Dowling) of Dothan, AL. He is also survived by five nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 29th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Mooresville Brick Church (25035 Lauderdale St, Mooresville, AL 35649).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Historic Mooresville Preservation Fund, P.O. Box 42, Mooresville, AL 35649, or to a charitable organization of your choice.
