He was predeceased by: his parents, Monroe Hays and Ellie Hays; and his sister Marjorie Brown. He is survived by: his wife Oleta Hays; his children, Cindy Hawkins (David) and Ben Hays, Jr. (Donna); his sister Elousie Hays Guggenhein; his grandchildren, Melissa Veasey, Brandon Hawkins, Laura Hays, Perry Hays III and Brian Hays; and his great grandchildren, Abby Hays, Emily Hays, Drew Kanser, Ela Clair Hays, Emma Veasey, Adalyn Veasey, Ashton Hays and Ben Hays IV.
